Duties & Responsibilities:

The Heavy Duty Truck & Trailer Mechanic is responsible for inspecting diagnosing repairing and performing preventative maintenance on commercial transport vehicles & trailers; ensuring all work meets manufacturers specifications and legislated regulations; interpreting and processing work orders; and providing performance evaluations mentorship and supervision to the apprentice team.

• Ensure all equipment is maintained to the highest standards to maximize uptime and availability

• Inspect and test mechanical units (engines transmissions axles brake systems) to locate faults and malfunctions

• Diagnose adjust repair or replace parts and components on truck systems (chassis frame cab engine & drivetrain air brakes steering fuel hydraulic electrical electronic)

• Adjust repair or replace parts and components on truck-trailer and trailer systems (structural brake electrical)

• Promote safety and quality; follow all health safety environmental policies and procedures

• Complete related duties as assigned

What You Bring:

• Heavy Duty Truck & TrailerMechanic with minimum 5 years experience is required

• Level 3 or higher is required

• CVIP Certification (considered an asset)

• Class 1 License (considered an asset)

• Safety-first mindset; able to maintain a clean organized work area

• Proven ability to interpret work orders/technical manuals and document repairs & parts accurately

• Strong diagnostics across truck and trailer systems; capable in scheduled PM and corrective repairs

• High attention to detail strong organization and clear communication across teams

• Knowledge of relevant legislation and regulatory standards

• Ability to pass a company paid criminal record check and pre-employment drug/alcohol screening
