Job Summary
Responsible for the hands-on operation of a 4-unit 1200 MW combined cycle power generation facility utilizing GE 7FA combustion turbines and A10 steam turbine (control systems to include Foxboro and GE Mark VIe). Responsible for the operation of a 2-unit 300 MW simple cycle power generation facility utilizing Siemens V84.3A.2 simple cycle gas turbines with TXP control systems. This role will pay between $35 to $48 per hour depending upon experience. Role is also eligible for bonus profit sharing and benefits for the employee and their eligible dependents.
Job Description
Key Accountabilities:
- Operate and maintain the facility in the control room or field optimizing Plant performance through established procedures.
- Work a 12-hour rotating shift.
- Assist in all evolutions throughout the plant.
- Operate equipment and perform repairs as needed maintaining plant equipment at the highest possible standard maximizing availability reliability and efficiency.
- Demonstrate procedural compliance in all plant operation activities by operating plant equipment through established valve line-ups and system/component operating procedures.
- Ensures strict adherence to safety health and environmental procedures as they relate to plant operations and maintenance including but not limited to Lockout Tagout Job Safety Analysis Confined Space Hot Work Electrical Safety and PPE
- Monitor water chemistry parameters in support of make-up water production cooling water circulation and ASME guidelines for maintaining boiler and feed water within specification.
- Master a shift turnover process to ensure a seamless transfer of information to the oncoming shift.
- Actively participate in the behavior-based safety program and ensure every team member complies with all safety procedures and applicable task-oriented job safety analyses.
- Basic user PC skills for information processing and management
- General knowledge of safety and environmental regulation
- Ability to operate a forklift and man-lifts as needed
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to hear and understand audible alarms detect changes in noise levels of equipment accurately read and interpret instruments and gauges.
- Ability to respond to plant emergencies
- Ability to perform demanding work at heights under adverse conditions and when participating in emergency activities
- Ability to climb stairs ladders and enter confined spaces as required to complete assigned task
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.
Education Experience and Skill Requirements:
2 years of related experience in a similar industry
Satisfactory completion of Tier 1 job performance measures composed of basic: Operations Mechanical Electrical and Instrument and Controls
High School diploma or general education degree (GED) or equivalent
Demonstrate standard computer based skills
Demonstrate effective oral & verbal communications skills
If applicable candidate must meet the requirement of PT1-E
- Must successfully complete/pass POSS/MASS testing
- This position can be filled at a level I II III or IV depending on experience level
Key Metrics:
Progression of skill within primary skill set.
Satisfactory completion of Tier 2 job performance measures predominately composed of Sign-offs of demonstrating different primary and auxiliary system operations and maintenance relevant to primary skill.
Demonstrate continual self improvement in job skills and knowledge.
