British American Tobacco Indonesia has an exciting opportunity for a Packaging Development Manager II in Malang

The Packaging Development Manager II role involves managing and delivering medium to high complexity packaging deployment projects and initiatives to support growth regulatory efficiency and maintenance goals aligned with Global/Regional/End Market strategies.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Lead and supervise packaging deployment activities for the assigned market. Coordinate closely with internal and external collaborators to align with Market Global and ESG strategies. Identify risks and packaging cost impacts from project requirements. Offer practical solutions to packaging problems.
  • Engage regularly with BATs external suppliers and partners and gain ideas how to improve BATs material pipeline in terms of costs and innovation.
  • Validate the laboratory outcome and assess business risk related to modified or new material to enable business decisions with stakeholders.
  • Offer technical insights and recommendations on change management innovation and initiatives to improve efficiency and sourcing change projects.
  • Provide technical input and support for new supplier and material qualifications
  • Ensure all packaging developments follow BAT Packaging Guidelines Product Stewardship Regulatory and Brand Standards.
  • Build and maintain material specifications commodity specifications and individual specifications at both external supplier and factory level.

What are we looking for

  • University degree or equivalent in engineering packaging material/technology or having experience and/or technical background in printing/packaging.
  • At least 5 years experience in packaging development (FMCG packaging or other related industries)
  • Working knowledge and understanding in printing process/technology experience working with a variety of materials (e.g. paper plastic and film) and well versed on different packaging material properties.
  • Ability to interpret analytical data and formulate conclusions and propose action plans.
  • Effective communication in English and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent project management skills - ability to plan and coordinate multiple projects across functional levels.
  • Good digital and IT skills (Word Excel PowerPoint). Skill in Illustrator Artpro or similar graphic software Power Automate and Power BI is desirable.
