Job Summary

  • Lead network and fleet strategy for Qantas Freight across International Domestic and Tasman operations. 
  • Oversee end to end operations for Domestic Tasman and international freighter networks from aircraft sourcing through day of operations and drive continuous improvement

The Senior Manager Fleet Network and Freighter Operations is responsible for designing leading and executing Qantas Freights network and fleet strategy across International Domestic and Tasman operations. This includes both short- and long-term planning to ensure optimal asset deployment and alignment with commercial and operational objectives. 

The role also oversees day-to-day operations for the Domestic and Tasman freighter network manages international freighter operations (including B747F and A330F aircraft) and handles end-to-end contract management. The Senior Manager assesses and prioritizes network opportunities develops proposals and produces business cases that balance commercial needs with operational constraints. 

Additional responsibilities include developing seasonal schedules securing regulatory approvals and aligning plans with demand forecasts. The role also monitors and optimises network performance using data-driven insights leads fleet projects (such as P2F conversions) and coordinates with cross-functional teams. The Senior Manager ensures Freight considerations are included in major group projects drives continuous improvement and maintains strong stakeholder relationships. 

Overall this position is pivotal in shaping Qantas Freights network ensuring resilience compliance and profitability while delivering excellent service outcomes. 

Youllhave  

  • Minimum 7 years of professional experience with at least 5 years in airline roles related to network fleet freight or revenue management. 
  • Tertiary qualifications in a logical and/or analytical discipline such as economics mathematics business marketing or aviation. 
  • Broad commercial and operational airline expertise.  
  • Strong stakeholder management and ability to build trust at all levels.  
  • Proven leadership and team motivation capabilities.  
  • Advanced analytical financial and problem-solving skills.  
  • Demonstrated experience in network planning airline operations alliances or revenue management.  
  • Deep understanding of airline industry dynamics and network strategy.  
  • Project and people management experience with a track record of delivering multiple initiatives concurrently.  
  • Senior stakeholder engagement and effective communication.  
  • High attention to detail business acumen and proficiency in Microsoft Office.  
  • Excellent organizational skills; able to manage complex priorities independently.  
  • Self-driven proactive and adept at navigating ambiguity and confidentiality
