Overview
The Division Chief for the Division of Sleep Medicinedelivers medical care to patients in an ambulatory or hospital setting.May be involved in clinicalratingof medical students and residents.
Responsibilities
Provide Administrative leadership and oversight for the direction of growth of the Division ofSleepMedicine.
Collaborate with peersfacultyand support staff.
Participate in academic/clinical/research activities as needed.
Participate in administrative departmentpolicyand procedure development.
Participate inclinical basedresearch projects as needed.
Participate in committees as assigned.
Supervise staff under faculty supervision.
Provide medical care to patients inoffice/hospital setting.
Collaborate with Nursing office staff administration in patient care.
Participate in education evaluation and career development ofstudent residentsfellowsand staff.
Qualifications
MD DO or MB required.
Unrestricted license to provide medical care in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
Five(5) to ten(10) years of supervisor experience.
Progressively more responsiblepositions in an academic setting.
Preferred:
- Understands and adheres to VHS compliance standards as they appear in VHS Compliance Policy Code of Conduct and Conflict of Interest Policy.
- Keep abreast of all pertinent federal state and VHS regulations laws and policies as they presently exist and as they change or are modified.
