We are seeking experienced Analytical Chemistry Group Leaders to oversee laboratory operations and lead a team of scientists in a cGMP-regulated environment. This role is critical to ensuring high-quality analytical testing compliance and continuous improvement within our organization. The ideal candidate will combine technical expertise in chromatography and related analytical techniques with strong leadership and organizational skills.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a team of analytical chemists providing guidance training and performance feedback.
- Oversee laboratory operations ensuring compliance with cGMP and company policies.
- Plan execute and troubleshoot analytical methods including HPLC/UPLC and UV-Vis spectroscopy.
- Review and interpret quantitative data from chromatography and other analytical techniques.
- Ensure accurate documentation and data integrity within electronic systems (LIMS).
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet project timelines and deliverables.
- Drive process improvements and implement best practices for efficiency and quality.
Qualifications :
Education & Experience:
- Bachelors degree in Chemistry Biochemistry Life Sciences Engineering or related discipline; or equivalent directly-related experience.
- Minimum 2 years of cGMP experience.
- Minimum 2 years of leadership experience in a regulated laboratory environment.
Technical Expertise:
- Proficiency with HPLC/UPLC instrumentation troubleshooting and quantitative data processing.
- Experience with UV-Vis spectroscopy and other analytical techniques.
- Familiarity with electronic sample and data management systems (LIMS).
Core Competencies:
- Strong computer scientific and organizational skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills with attention to detail.
- Demonstrated integrity work ethic and ability to meet physical demands (lifting up to 25 lbs. standing/walking for extended periods).
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Self-motivated adaptable and positive attitude.
- Ability to learn new techniques/processes perform multiple tasks simultaneously and maintain accurate records.
Additional Information :
The position is full-time first shift Monday through Friday 8am-4:30pm. Candidates must be flexible to adapt to schedule changes requiring shift changes and/or weekend work and overtime may be required as needed. Candidates living within a commutable distance of Rensselear New York are encouraged to apply.
