Junior Finance Operations Associate

We are seeking talented finance professionals to join a newly created team as part of a unique collaboration between EY and this role you will be employed by EY while working within the finance and accounting function of SCOR a leading global reinsurer renowned for its innovative range of reinsurance and insurance solutions. As SCOR establishes SCOR Bucharest you will play a crucial role in supporting their accounting operations specializing in IFRS and Solvency II standards.

Skills and attributes for success

• Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or a related field
• 0-3 years of relevant experience or internships in accounting or finance preferred
• Proficiency in accounting software and MS Excel
• Strong attention to detail analytical skills and a willingness to learn
• Effective communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
• Proficiency in English

Your key responsibilities

Accounting Tasks:

• Assist in journal postings for technical topics (e.g. late adjustments Contractual Service Margin adjustments) and non-technical topics (e.g. expenses internal recharges)
• Support cash settlement processes ensuring timely processing of transactions and maintaining accurate records
• Participate in monthly and year-end closing activities in accounting systems (e.g. SAP OMEGA) including basic foreign exchange runs and open items resolution

Reconciliation:

• Assist in reconciliations for intercompany operations including discussions with counterparties to resolve discrepancies
• Perform bank reconciliations ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded and reconciled
• Support the reconciliation of general ledger accounts with data from source systems identifying and addressing any variances

Analysis and Reporting:

• Contribute to the preparation of analysis memos (e.g. claims movements unusual technical events) providing insights to senior staff
• Assist in generating reports and performing basic analysis on expenses ensuring data accuracy and relevance

Audit & Compliance Support:

• Support internal controls documentation ensuring compliance with organizational policies and procedures

• Technical accounting tool: OMEGA (SCOR proprietary system)
• Accounting tool: SAP GL
• Reporting / Analysis tool: Business Object
• Consolidation reporting: SAP BFC
