An elite independent day and boarding school in Birmingham is looking to recruit a PE Teacher from January 2026. The school is well suited to experienced teachers and strong early-career professionals with outstanding sporting credentials.
School Information
This independent school educates 1200 pupils aged 1118 and is renowned for high academic standards extensive pastoral provision and excellence in sport. The school offers modern boarding facilities although boarding duties are optional for academic staff.
Facilities include a state-of-the-art sports centre Olympic-standard swimming pool indoor climbing facilities performance gym indoor and outdoor courts and exceptional grounds for rugby athletics and cricket.
The PE department contributes heavily to local regional and national competitions with several pupils competing at elite level across various sports.
Experience and Qualifications
Degree in PE Sports Science or related discipline
Teaching qualification desirable (PGCE/QTS) but strong coaching backgrounds also considered
Experience teaching KS3KS5 PE
Ability to coach a major team sport to a high level
Strong pastoral skills and willingness to engage with wider school life
Salary
Salary offered on the independent school pay scale above maintained sector rates.
