Job Summary

Overview

The Business Architect will support the Ontario Ministry of the Environment Conservation and Parks (MECP) during the transition from the Endangered Species Act 2007 (ESA) to the new Species Conservation Act (SCA) 2025.
The role involves updating the existing Business Architecture Document (BAD) developing governance deliverables and collaborating with architecture review teams to ensure alignment with new legislation. The resource will work in a hybrid capacity contributing to architecture design documentation and organizational process updates related to the SCA implementation.

Responsibilities

  • Update the existing Business Architecture Document (BAD) to align with the new SCA 2025 regulations.
  • Develop and deliver Architecture Governance Point 1 2 and 3 documentation related to the BAD.
  • Research analyze and incorporate new SCA policy and organizational structure details into business architecture deliverables.
  • Collaborate with the Cluster Architecture Review Team to resolve review comments logs and recommendations.
  • Refine finalize and submit the updated BAD in accordance with SCA requirements.
  • Work with stakeholders across LRC and MECP to ensure business processes align with legislative changes.
  • Support knowledge transfer through regular meetings workshops and documentation handoffs.

Must-Haves

  • 3 years of experience as a Business Architect.
  • Demonstrated experience in creating and delivering Business Architecture deliverables including BAD and governance documentation.
  • Experience collaborating with Cluster/Corporate Architecture Review Teams to address review logs and feedback.

Nice-to-Haves

  • Experience working in the Public Sector or Government organizations.
  • Familiarity with environmental legislation regulatory frameworks or policy-driven projects.
  • Understanding of architecture governance frameworks within large organizations.
  • Experience with business process modeling enterprise architecture tools or documentation standards.
  • Strong stakeholder communication and facilitation skills for cross-functional teams.
