SECOND LEAD DESIGN ENGINEER - TURBINE
Working location: HIP/ Prithla India
General Description
SECOND LEAD DESIGN ENGINEER - TURBINE in TURBINE ENGINEERING with designations ranging from Sr.
Engineer to AGM (in commensurate with experience) for Executing Basic and Detail Design of Pump Storage Projects
(PSPs) Large Hydro conventional Turbine Large Refurbushiments.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS
Basic & Detail design of Turbine assemblies and components.
Layouts Drawings BoMs Purchase specifications Calculations Analysis
Continuous improvement of product & processes optimisation
Technical troubleshooting at shop and site
Handling customer queries and approvals for Indian and International projects
Design collaboration and reviews with technical experts in parent company at Europe
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
Education: B.E/ M.E./ - Mechanical Engineering from reputated Institute
Experience:
o 5 years of experience in mechanical design of Hydro Turbines Heavy Engineering Industrial
components using 3D CAD software (NX and TeamCenter preferable)
o Sound knowledge of mechanical engineering design concepts
o Understanding of materials and manufacturing processes involved
o Experience of technical trouble shooting
o Proactive avid learner team player good communication ability
Languages: Proficiency in English Hindi
Product Know-How
o Hydro Turbine Design & Engineering along with the whole product life cycle
Readiness to travel

Specific Competencies:
o Solid Mechanical & Hydraulic engineering fundamentals
o Astute designers aptitude & approach
o Knowledge & experience of using techniques CAD Analytical & FE Calculation tools & processes (NX
SAP Standards Calc. tools etc.).
o Knowledge & experience of Hydro Turbine Design procurement Quality control Manufacturing
Erection & Commissioning aspects.
o Knowledge & experience of dealing with external agencies.
o Technical project management skills along with resource management Skills
Special Note
As part of Turbine engineering team exposure will not only be in Turbines but entire hydro-power plant machinery
including generators governors excitation protection and control systems mechanical balance of plant electrical
power systems penstocks and gates.
Working in Turbine engineering team also involves understanding of various manufacturing processes (welding
machining coating casting forging etc.) and knowledge of variety of materials that are required for turbine construction.
Exposure to vast knowledge data base of engineering guidelines procedures design instructions and library of
international & national standards will also be part of the work profile.
The job also requires international exposure in form of customer interactions as our projects are located globally and/or
on-job work/reviews at parent company location at Europe.
