THE ROLE
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Hardware Engineer to join the FlashBlade//EXA Business Unit. You will play a key role in the design and productization of Pures innovative high-performance and energy-efficient storage solutions for exascale customers at the forefront of AI. As a subject matter expert you will work directly with these customers to understand their unique requirements and tailor our solution to their needs.
WHAT YOULL DO
- Lead Hardware Qualification: Own and drive the selection validation qualification and documentation of hardware for our storage sub-systems and platforms working closely with our architects and ODM/JDM partners.
- Debug and Resolve Issues: You will lead efforts to troubleshoot and debug testbeds hardware issues and external escalations working with our partners to perform failure and root cause analysis to support system hardening and customer needs.
- Architect and Automate: Define implement and automate hardware validation and qualification tests. You will evaluate and modify partners design and validation processes to enhance product reliability consistency and time to market.
- Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Work with engineering operations manufacturing and support teams internally and our external hardware partners to integrate new storage sub-systems into existing and new platforms guiding them through production and into sustaining.
WHAT YOU BRING
- Hardware and x86 Expertise: A strong background in hardware design x86 architectures and related interfaces. You have proven experience in qualifying hardware at the electrical signal integrity protocol and functional levels.
- Experience in Hardware Development: You have a track record of planning implementing and automating hardware qualification processes including selecting x86 subcomponents NVMe drives and power supplies.
- Knowledge on full system rack-scale integration: You have an understanding of developing and connecting complex systems including high speed networking knowledge rack integration and power delivery.
- Automation and Scripting: Strong experience with scripting languages like Python and BASH for test development and workflow automation.
- Experience producing enterprise class level products: You have experience in interacting and directing cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality hardware i.e operations vendors support.
- We are primarily an in-office environment and therefore you will be expected to work from the Santa Clara CA office in compliance with Pures policies unless you are on PTO or work travel or other approved leave.

Salary ranges are determined based on role level and location. For positions open to candidates in multiple geographical locations the base salary range is reflective of the labor market across the applicable locations.
This role may be eligible for incentive pay and/or equity.

The annual base salary range is:
$193000 - $290000 USD
