Job Summary

Job Responsibilities

Responsible for overall classification services atPalmer Pre-Release Center.
Supervise the community program supervisors responsible for classification services at Palmer.
Responsible for job recruitment assignment and monitoring of work program jobs.
Coordinate and participate in institutional orientation programs.
Ensure that inmates are employed and details are adequately staffed.
Conduct periodic reviews of inmate progress.
Gather information pertaining to the inmates social criminal educational and family history.
Conduct oral and/or written responses to request for information concerning inmate status and input into automated system.
Responsible for job site visits and monitoring of inmates assignedto labor crews work programs and medical furlough.
Perform other related duties as required.

Must successfully complete four (4) weeks of SCDC Basic Training upon hire.

Minimum and Additional Requirements

State of South Carolina Minimum Requirements:

A bachelors degree and related experience.

SCDC Minimum Requirements:

Bachelors degree and one (1) year of inmate classification experience.

An associates degree and two (2) years of inmate classification experience

A High School Diploma and four (4) years of inmate classification experience.
