Job Summary

Under supervision of the Director of Financial Aid Operations and Associate Director provides administrative services for the processing of financial aid and counseling services for all students. Assists with formulation of financial aid award packages using established federal state and/or university policies. Determines and approves financial aid eligibility using latest online technology and is responsible for complete accounts of financial aid records. Assists with Managing staff. Must maintain comprehensive knowledge of Banner. This includes all aspects of loan processing in Banner and with COD and NSLDS as well as reporting functions.

Essential Functions

  • Assists in the oversight of financial aid operations for all schools and campuses.
  • Manages staff and coordinates day to day activities and duties for FA staff evaluates performance.
  • Develops training materials and conducts internal staff training sessions.
  • Assists Director and Associate Director with reporting requirements and maintaining compliance with all procedures and policies related to financial aid.
  • Presents at Orientations new student days and all other functions that require financial aid guidance.
  • Complies with current regulations of all federal (Title IV and Title VII) state private and university programs.
  • Prepares and presents debt management and budgetary workshops to all students.
  • Assists Director in preparation of various federal state university and private reports.
  • Assists Director and Associate Director with monthly and annual fund reconciliation.
  • Conducts operational processing for all students.
  • Addresses financial aid incidents received in various venues; e-mail assigned by call center or by phone.
  • Member of internal and external committees as determined by the Executive Director.
  • Acts as liaison with various internal departments as appropriate.
  • Administers policies and procedures for the administration of financial aid and the day to day activities of the financial aid office.
  • Reviews/Prepares financial aid correspondence in all venues when necessary.
  • Represents Drexel at professional meetings seminars and/or conferences as assigned.
  • Keeps abreast of all pertinent federal state and Drexel regulations laws and policies as they presently exist and as they change or are modified.
  • Understands and adheres to Drexels compliance standards as they appear in Code of Conduct and Conflict of Interest Policy.
  • Maintain collaborative relationships with all colleagues while demonstrating cooperation and accountability.
  • Assist with counseling about Financial Aid at Admission Events as needed.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of a Bachelors Degree orthe equivalent combination of education and work experience. (Please review the Equivalency Chart for additional information.)
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience financial aid.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize multiple projects.
  • Excellent analytical skills complex problem solving communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work evenings or weekends as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Managerial experience.
  • Working knowledge Banner COD NSLDS and PHEAAfinancial aid systems.

This position is classified as Exempt grade K. Compensation for this grade ranges from$54630 - $81940 per year. Please note that the offered rate for thisposition typically aligns with the minimum to midrange of this grade but it can vary based on thesuccessful candidates qualifications and experience department budget and an internal equity review.
