Capital Markets Credit Risk Team:

RQAs Capital Markets Credit Risk team is charged with actively managing global counterparty credit risk exposures in accordance with the firms fiduciary mandate which includes providing transparency to counterparty credit-related portfolio and firm-wide risks. The team works closely with BlackRocks securities lending business applying its counterparty risk management expertise to support the firms role as an Agent Lender. The team is also responsible for trading risk helping trading management ensure that traders execution strategies result in their intended outcomes.

Role Overview

We are seeking a Counterparty Credit Risk Analyst to join our team in Gurgaon. The principal responsibilities of an analyst within the counterparty risk function will be to contribute to the teams coverage of global counterparties and develop expertise on transactions that give rise to counterparty exposures such as securities settlement derivatives transactions (both bilateral and cleared) and financing role encompasses both fiduciary and enterprise risk management mandates:

  • Fiduciary: Protecting the interests of our clients by ensuring prudent counterparty credit risk management across their portfolios.

  • Enterprise: Safeguarding BlackRocks own exposure as an Agent Lender in the securities lending market ensuring that enterprise-level risks are identified assessed and managed effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Producing counterparty credit reviews of financial institutions using financial statement analysis and qualitative review guidelines

  • Monitoring financial performance and market driven events of counterparties

  • Reporting and reviewing counterparty risk exposures including preparing counterparty risk reports for senior stakeholders and regulators

  • Monitoring and analysing aggregate levels of counterparty credit exposures for BlackRocks clients portfolios against appropriate thresholds (regulatory and/or internal risk limits and thresholds) where required

  • Identifying counterparty credit risks and exposures arising from new investment activities and/or operational processes

  • Interacting with global trading and portfolio management teams supporting counterparty exposure management initiatives

  • Supporting global regulatory change projects and developments impacting counterparty credit risk management

  • Protecting the reputation of BlackRock and its clients

Qualifications:

  • A masters degree in accounting finance economics or relevant work experience involving financial statement analysis or credit risk management

  • Ability to communicate with stakeholders across multiple functions geographies and cultures with professional maturity and sound judgment.

  • Ability to effectively work with advanced Excel features Power BI and/or coding in Python are a positive for the role

  • An ability to explain complex ideas in simple but impactful terms and proven ability to use effective communication to influence outcomes

  • A passion for problem solving and an interest in being a persistent student of the financial markets

  • Strong attention to detail a strong work ethic and ability to work both independently and as part of a team
