Job Description: Embedded Technology Lead
Position Overview
We are seeking an experiencedEmbedded Technology Leadto oversee the design development and delivery of embedded solutions across firmware hardware and testing domains. This role involves leading end-to-end embedded product development ensuring compliance with CE marking and other international standards. The ideal candidate will combine hands-on technical expertise with leadership skills to guide cross-functional teams in building reliable innovative and compliant embedded systems.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the end-to-end development lifecycle for embedded products includingrequirements gathering architecture design firmware development hardware design testing and validation.
Define and design embedded system architectures includingmicrocontrollers embedded Linux/RTOS platforms and custom electronics.
Drive and reviewfirmware developmentin C/C (or equivalent) ensuring code quality modularity and maintainability.
Leadhardware development and PCB design reviews ensuring integration with embedded firmware components as well as EMS management.
Leadtesting and validation strategiesincluding test plans & test management integration testing hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) environmental and compliance testing.
Overseeregulatory compliance and CE marking ensuring products meet European directives and other relevant global standards (e.g. EMC LVD RoHS CRA).
Partner with product management and stakeholders totranslate customer requirements into robust embedded solutions.
Mentor and guide embedded engineers fostering a culture of continuous learning reviews and best practices in coding and electronics design.
Collaborate with QA certification labs and manufacturing teams to ensureproduction readiness and compliance documentation (DoC Technical Files).
Identify emerging embedded technologies and driveinnovation and adoptionto maintain a competitive edge.
Required Qualifications
Masters/PhD degree in Electronics Electrical Engineering Computer Engineering or equivalent.
15 years of professional experience inembedded systems developmentwith at least 3 years in atechnical leadership role.
Proven expertise infirmware developmentusing C/C (RTOS bare-metal or embedded Linux).
Strong background inhardware design and development including microcontrollers sensors communication interfaces (UART CAN SPI I2C Ethernet BLE etc.) and EMS management.
Deep understanding oftesting methodologiesfor embedded systems (test plans debugging test automation system validation EMC/IP pre-compliance).
Hands-on experience withCE marking processes risk assessments technical documentation and regulatory compliance (EMC LVD RoHS RED CRA as applicable).
Familiarity withtools: oscilloscopes logic analyzers JTAG debuggers PCB design/review software (Altium Designer) and lab test setups.
Strong problem-solving mindset and proven ability tolead cross-functional engineering teams.
Knowledge ofAgile developmentand working in collaborative DevOps environments.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience withIoT productsand secure communication protocols (MQTT TLS etc.).
Experience managingthird-party labs and certification housesfor compliance testing.
