Storeroom & Purchasing Coordinator
Set next to the picturesque Vondelpark in the heart of the city the 396-room Amsterdam Marriott is celebrated for its proximity to significant landmarks such as the Rijksmuseum and Van Gogh Museum exclusive shopping vibrant nightlife and high-end restaurants. Opened in 1975 as the first Marriott in Europe the hotel blends a prime location with contemporary interiors offering an ideal address for exploring Amsterdam. The hotel also features 11 flexible meeting and event spaces with natural daylight including our Grand Ballroom and studios.
Guests can enjoy premium dining at Midtown Grill one of Amsterdams top steak restaurants as well as Bar TWLV our cosmopolitan bar offering globally inspired dishes creative cocktails and a day-to-night atmosphere.
We are now seeking an organized & detail-oriented Storeroom & Purchasing Coordinator to join the Finance & Purchasing Team at the Amsterdam Marriott Hotel. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment and enjoy keeping everything running seamlessly this role is perfect for you.
What are my responsibilities
Inventory & Requisitions
- Check and receive items & transfers between departments based on approved requisitions
- Maintain accurate records of all inventory movements
Food & Beverage Cost Control
- Organize track and communicate food cost data to relevant departments
- Support the finance team with data entry and reporting during the monthly closing cycle
- Assist in the costing and pricing of new menu items
Quality Control
- Conduct regular inspections of storeroom ensuring proper FIFO & PAR stock practices and monitoring expiry dates
- Monitor and control spoilage of F&B items across outlets
- Assist the Receiver with processing and quality-checking daily fresh food deliveries and ensuring proper storage
Systems & Compliance
- Ensure strict compliance with Marriott storeroom policies with strong emphasis on inventory security
- Book daily receiving items into the purchasing system
What makes you the perfect fit
You enjoy working in an international environment and are passionate about numbers and hotel operations. You enjoy working with people and being part of a team. You have great communication- organization- and negotiation skills and you enjoy analyzing data and reporting. You have a good overview and are proactive in your daily routine.
To be eligible for this position you
- have (recently) graduated from a hotel or business school
- can speak and write fluently in English
- have good analytical and organization skills
- are enthusiastic and self-motivated
- European Passport
- Close link to Finance
