About the Role:

VU TAFE is seeking sessional TAFE teachers within theCommunity ServicesDepartment. Candidates must demonstrate current industry experience as:

  • Mental health practitioner or
  • Youth Worker or
  • Community Services support worker or
  • AOD support worker

An example of duties you may perform will include:

  • Cert 4 Mental Health/ Youth Work/ AOD /Diploma of Community Services teaching: Preparing class content materials including case studies problem-based learning scenarios and delivering classes online and on campus at various locations
  • Competency-based assessment and student evaluation including industry placement support

Salary and Conditions of Employment

  • For the sessional teaching roles the hourly teaching rate payable is $95.01 per hour inclusive of 25% sessional loading plus superannuation.
  • Conditions of employment will be covered by Victoria University Vocational Teacher Enterprise Agreement 2025

About the Person:

Our teaching team is looking for someone:

  • Who possesses a TAE40110 TAE40116 or TAE40122 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or can provide proof of enrolment in TAE40122
  • With a qualification within the relevant sector you are applying for
  • With current Employee Working with Children Check or be able to obtain
  • With a minimum of 5 years industry experience to be able to bring your knowledge and experience to the classroom
  • With excellent communication skills and can do attitude
  • With relevant skills in Microsoft office databases and record keeping
  • Current police check valid within 6 months or willingness to obtain one
  • Available a minimum of 2 days per week (and evenings for online classes if possible)
