The Senior Quantity Surveyor (SQS) in BEUMER Group is appointed to support the various airports and logistics projects undertaken by BG in terms of performing the typical QS functions expected on a project. The SQS will primarily be responsible for tracking monitoring and administering changes claims and payment processes under the project. The SQS will also be involved with management of the subcontractors/suppliers from the QS/contractual perspective as well as attending to all matters related to insurances and bonds. Where required the SQS will also work with the Project Controller and Project Manager in monitoring and controlling the project budget.
The SQS will report to the Contracts Manager and work in close coordination with the Project Manager Project Controller and all other relevant personnel on the respective projects.
- Manage and administer variations in terms of collating information costing and valuation
- Administration of monthly progress claims to customer involving assessment of works done valuation of the claim and subsequent submission and follow-up on payment.
- Subcontracts management from award stage to management during the execution stage in terms of payments to and claims from subcontractors.
- Attend to all matters related to insurances and bonds.
- Management and administration of claims to the customer in terms of identifying events of claim collating information preparation of the claims and submission.
- Monitoring and controlling project budget with Project Controller and Project Manager.
Qualifications :
- Degree / Diploma Quantity Surveying or in the relevant field
- Minimum 6 years of experience and exposure on large scale construction or mechanical & electrical engineering projects in Singapore.
- Effective in management of cost related matters and tasks
- Basic ability to interpret contract provisions
- Strong aptitude in changes and claims management
- Strong project management skills
- Strong personal and social competence such as integrity assertiveness adaptive willingness to learn critical thinking.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Effective Time management
- Ability for negotiation and conflict resolution
