Culina Group fantastic opportunity for an experienced Head of Energy & Utilities to join our growing team!
As the Head of Energy and Utilities you will lead the strategic and operational delivery of energy efficiency carbon reduction and property sustainability initiatives across the Group. Collaborate with wider property procurement and operations teams to identify opportunities implement solutions and ensure compliance with evolving ESG standards.
This role is pivotal in supporting our Net Zero ambitions enhancing energy resilience/security and embedding sustainability into the heart of our operations.
Key Duties
- Develop and implement a Group-wide energy and decarbonisation strategy aligned with Net Zero targets and ESG commitments.
- Lead carbon footprint assessments across sites using recognised methodologies (e.g. GHG Protocol SECR).
- Create decarbonisation roadmaps for buildings refrigeration lighting and mobile assets.
- Oversee energy procurement & management metering and monitoring across the estate. Identify and deliver energy efficiency projects (e.g. LED upgrades voltage optimisation HVAC improvements).
- Ensure energy security is a key driver including hedging and establishing forward strategies for pricing.
- Manage relationships with energy suppliers brokers and consultants.
- Manage CoTs and billing queries from brokers and energy providers.
- Ensure compliance with UK energy and carbon legislation (e.g. ESOS SECR MEES).
- Produce board-level reports dashboards and visual summaries of energy performance and carbon metrics.
- Support BREEAM ISO 50001 and other relevant certifications.
- Work closely with wider property and operations teams to embed sustainability into site-level decision-making.
- Engage with external forums agencies suppliers and consultants to ensure we are at the forefront of knowledge and legislative changes.
- Engage with suppliers and contractors and landlords to drive low-carbon solutions in new builds refurbishments and maintenance.
- Deliver training and awareness campaigns for site teams and senior stakeholders.
- Evaluate and pilot renewable technologies (e.g. solar PV battery storage heat pumps) across logistics sites.
- Support rollout of EV infrastructure and low-carbon fleet initiatives.
- Leverage CAFM and IoT platforms to optimise energy data capture and analytics.
Qualifications :
- Proven experience in energy management sustainability or decarbonisation within industrial logistics or FM environments.
- Strong understanding of UK energy legislation and carbon reporting frameworks.
- Ability to translate technical data into clear visual outputs for non-technical stakeholders.
- Project management experience across multi-site portfolios.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and influencing skills.
