Purpose of the role

Were looking for a qualified Motor Mechanic (Heavy Vehicle) to join our Yatala Workshop within the Asset Services Fleet Maintenance directorate.

In this role youll:

  • Service repair and maintain a range of heavy and light emergency vehicles plant and equipment.
  • Diagnose faults and perform preventative maintenance to manufacturer and QFD standards.
  • Apply your technical expertise to ensure vehicles are safe reliable and operationally ready.
  • Work collaboratively with skilled tradespeople and technical officers in a supportive safety-focused environment.
  • Maintain accurate service records and contribute to fleet improvement initiatives.

Key requirements

About You

You take pride in your work thrive in a team environment and understand the importance of reliability in every vehicle you service.

To succeed youll bring:

  • A recognised qualification as a Motor Mechanic (Heavy Vehicle) or equivalent trade certificate.
  • Experience in maintaining and repairing heavy vehicles (government or emergency service fleet experience highly regarded).
  • Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
  • Current C Class Driver Licence (MR/HR Licence desirable).
  • Commitment to safety teamwork and high-quality outcomes.

Special requirements

  • Provide an after-hours rostered on-call service for the provision of urgent maintenance/repairs for fire appliances/heavy vehicles and equipment.
