Responsibilities:
- Develop plan and implement special projects events and fundraising efforts for the department.
- Provide ongoing and specialized consultation services to parishes including assessments of and recommendations for PSM programs as well as guidance on complex client cases.
- Develop and communicate resources and networking in a variety of areas to parishes as needed.
- Design initiate facilitate and conduct training programs for Coordinators and Volunteers.
- Encourage and facilitate parish development actions and advocacy for social justice.
- Review and recommend financial assistance applications submitted by parishes on behalf of clients.
Coordinate with parishes on application process.
- Participate in trainings and conferences to maintain current knowledge of resources trends
needs and skills.
Requirements:
- Bachelors Degree in Human Services Theology and/or training in a related field preferred.
- Previous experience as a Parish Social Ministry Coordinator a plus.
- Ability to identify priorities multi-task and deliver independent effective follow up.
- Effective communication skills especially ability to listen to a broad array of constituencies.
- Availability for travel across Long Island with occasional weekend/evening hours.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Bilingual capability in Spanish/English a plus.
- Valid NYS Drivers license.
Schedule: full time 35 hours per week
Rate of Pay: $30.22 per hour/$55000 annual
This position is grant funded from 1/1/2026 through 12/31/26.
This rate of pay serves as a good faith estimate. Actual pay is based on a number of factors which may include a candidates qualifications skills competencies experience and work location. The salary range or rate listed does not include any differential pay or other forms of compensation such as the value of benefits which may be applicable to this position.
