COMPANY OVERVIEW:
Our client a Karachi-based State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) regulated Electronic Money Institution (EMI) seeks to appoint an experienced professional for the following role:
Job Role
The position will support the business in detecting preventing investigating and reporting fraud risks across the IMEs digital remittance ecosystem foreign exchange operations and agent network. The role focuses on real-time monitoring fraud analytics incident handling and controls implementationensuring strong financial crime prevention aligned with State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) and internal risk frameworks.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct real-time and post-transaction monitoring to identify suspicious patterns anomalies and potential fraud attempts across digital and OTC channel
- Monitor agent activities user account behaviours and system logs for potential misuse
- Perform data analysis to detect fraud trends repeated patterns and active fraud typologies
- Develop and update dashboards fraud MIS and KRIs for management review
- Support implementation of fraud prevention rules system parameters and access controls in coordination with Product & IT Security teams
- Conduct preliminary investigations into suspicious transactions and fraud incidents (internal/external). Gather evidence document findings and support root-cause analysis
- Prepare case files for escalation to supervisor and regulatory reporting where required
- Coordinate with AML/CFT Operations Customer Support and Legal teams for fraud case management
- Support compliance to SBP circulars cybersecurity policies and regulatory inspection requirements
- Any other assignment as deemed appropriate by supervisor
Education
- Minimum 16 years of education preferably a Business Administration Finance Accounting Economics Risk Management or related field from an HEC-recognized or equivalent foreign institution.
Experience
- Minimum 3-4 years of professional experience preferably in a large national/multinational organization with at least 1-2 years of related functional experience in a similar role at an equivalent position
- Experience in a bank EMI fintech or regulated financial institution growth functions is preferred
Requirements
- Strong analytical and investigative skills
- Practical exposure to fraud monitoring tools and rules engines
- Knowledge of SBP regulatory guidelines related to AML/CFT & fraud risk
- Ability to interpret red flags and escalate with sound judgment
- Team-oriented approach with confidentiality and ethical commitment
- Proficiency in MS Excel SQL or BI tools (Power BI Tableau) is a plus
Age
