Accounting Clerk

We provide contractors avid builders DIYers and community leaders the tools construction service and design expertise to support residential and commercial projects from start to finish.

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Accounting Clerkto join our finance team. TheAccounting Clerkwill play a crucial role inin maintaining accurate financial records reconciling bank transactions andsupporting the overall efficiency of the accounting operations.
The successful candidate will have duties such as but not limited to:
- Perform daily cash postings and reconcile bank activity to the general ledger.
- Complete monthly bank reconciliations across multiple accounts and entities.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies including timing differences missing transactions and posting errors.
- Ensure all reconciling items are addressed promptly and accurately.
- Work closely with AP/AR teams to verify transaction completeness and accuracy.
- Monitor electronic payments deposits returned items and bank fees for proper coding and approval
- Prepare journal entries for recurring and adjusting items related to cash activity.
- Assist with month-end close by providing reconciliation schedules documentation and variance explanations.
- Support accounts payable and accounts receivable processing when required.
- Maintain organized financial records digital filing and audit-ready backup.
- Respond to internal inquiries regarding cash postings vendor payments deposits and customer receipts.
- Assist the Controller and Accounting Analyst with special projects reporting and process improvements.
The ideal candidate will have:
- 23 years of experience in accounting bookkeeping or bank reconciliation roles (multi-entity experience an asset).
- Strong understanding of bank activity cash flow and general ledger interactions.
- Proficiency with accounting software (GP Dynamics QuickBooks Sage or similar).
- Intermediate Excel skills (VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP pivot tables filters).
- Bistrack experience is considered an asset.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in numerical work.
- Strong problem-solving skills and comfort investigating anomalies.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with the Finance team.
- Post-secondary certificate or diploma in Accounting Business Administration or equivalent experience.
