Job Title: Quality Control Technician
Pay Rate: $20/hr.
Schedule: 2 weeks of training at 08:00 am / 12 hour graveyard shifts 06:00 pm
Benefits: Medical Dental AD&D PSL
Position Summary: The Quality Control Technician is responsible for monitoring and maintaining product quality within a manufacturing environment. Working under the direction of the Shift Supervisor and Quality Director this role involves executing various quality control activities to ensure compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements. The technician will play a key role in upholding product integrity and safety throughout the production process.
Key Responsibilities:
- Complete daily quality checks and activities with a focus on accuracy and thoroughness.
- Conduct tests on samples place products on hold as needed and assist in the destruction of non-compliant products.
- Verify weights of various samples and confirm the accuracy of ingredients and packaging materials.
- Perform product grading to ensure quality standards are met.
- Conduct dunk tests and seal leak tests.
- Verify correct date coding on both primary and secondary packaging.
- Execute quality testing for product moisture salt oil oxygen levels and other critical criteria.
- Perform Free Fatty Acid (FFA) oil testing and conduct gluten testing as required.
- Ensure accurate completion and retention of all testing documentation in accordance with company policies.
- Follow documented Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for all quality activities including Critical Control Points (CCPs).
- Conduct pre-inspections of production lines to identify potential quality issues.
- Maintain a clean and organized laboratory environment.
- Adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) at all times while in the facility.
- Perform all other duties as assigned by the Shift Supervisor or Quality Director.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training in food science or quality control preferred.
- Experience in a quality control role within a manufacturing environment is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow precise instructions.
- Proficient in using laboratory equipment and performing quality tests.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and move samples and materials as needed (up to 50 lbs).
- Capacity to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks.
- Ability to work in a laboratory environment which may include exposure to various chemicals and materials.
- Ability to communicate verbally and written.
