Electro-Mechanical Technician (EMT)
The Electro-Mechanical Technician (EMT) is a key member of the plant maintenance team and is responsible for supporting factory operations by maintaining troubleshooting and repairing electrical and mechanical equipment in a high-speed manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
Perform preventive corrective and predictive maintenance on electrical and mechanical systems
Troubleshoot and repair production equipment to minimize downtime
Conduct equipment calibrations and machine adjustments to support operational requirements
Safely perform all work following established safety practices including LOTO PPE risk assessments and work permits
Utilize electrical schematics mechanical drawings manuals and OEM resources to diagnose and resolve equipment issues
Properly use tools test instruments and diagnostic equipment
Identify source and replace required parts using bills of materials parts lists and technical documentation
Maintain and troubleshoot electrical devices and systems including but not limited to:
Switchgear and power distribution systems
MCCs safety circuits disconnects fuses and circuit breakers
PLC-based automation systems (Allen-Bradley and Siemens)
Motors motor starters relays and VFDs
Sensors and instrumentation such as photo eyes proximity switches cameras temperature probes level sensors flow meters and control valves
Support continuous improvement initiatives through participation in the Mahle Operational Excellence system
Document maintenance activities repairs and future work requirements using the SAP Plant Maintenance (CMMS) system
Perform additional duties as assigned
Complete all work in a professional and workmanlike manner
Qualifications & Experience
Associates degree technical certificate or equivalent experience in Electrical Maintenance or Industrial Automation
Minimum of:
Proven experience troubleshooting repairing replacing components adjusting machinery and modifying equipment to meet operational specifications
Experience working in a high-speed manufacturing environment preferred
Advanced understanding of industrial electricity including motors and motor controls
Advanced knowledge of PLC-based automation systems (Allen-Bradley and Siemens)
Working knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems
Working knowledge of pipefitting and rigging
Familiarity with LOTO and Arc Flash safety regulations
Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills
Effective communication skills
Comfortable working with computers for documentation system navigation and information retrieval
Ability to use basic math skills for maintenance calibration and repair tasks
Ability to work overtime as required
Ability to meet the physical demands of the position
