Iowa State University Athletics seeks a dynamic Director of Football Strength and Conditioning to lead the design and execution of a comprehensive training program for our Division I FBS student-athletes. This pivotal role reports to Administration and works in close partnership with the Head Football Coach to maximize performance health and competitive excellence.
Examples of what youll do:
Design and implement a comprehensive development program that will help ISU student-athletes minimize injury risk maximize athletic performance and optimize team success
Direct all football weight room operations programming facility management budget S&C personnel and related administrative duties
Oversee the teaching and demonstration of proper exercise techniques ensuring safety and adapting workouts based on each student-athletes needs and health status
Educate and motivate student-athletes
Oversee testing data metrics analysis and daily performance reports on student-athletes
Regularly and effectively communicate and collaborate with health performance and support staff (e.g. Sports Medicine Sports Nutrition Mental Health)
Build trusting relationships with the coaches and student-athletes to develop proactive solutions to their requests/needs
Contribute to and enhance a competitive athletic experience while maintaining an environment conducive to the welfare and academic success of the student-athletes
Commitment to and responsibility for adhering to all rules and regulations of the University Big 12 Conference andNCAA.
The ideal candidate will have excellent technical knowledge and proven success with football S&C at a highly competitive level strong leadership and analytical skills exceptional motivational and communication skills and supervisory ability. Candidates are expected to be committed to multiculturalism and working with a diverse student body. Must be available and flexible to work evenings and/or weekends and to travel with the team.
Candidates are required to have and maintain current certification through a nationally accredited strength and conditioning certification program in accordance withNCAArequirements.
Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. on an ongoing basis without sponsorship.
Required Qualifications
Bachelors degree.
Experience coaching strength and conditioning for a professional or collegiate football program.
Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the NSCA or Strength and Conditioning Coach Certified (SCCC) through the CSCCa.
CPR/AEDand First Aid certified.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience strength coaching for aNCAADI football program.
Supervisory management and budget experience.
Advanced knowledge of Catapult GPS System.
Masters degree in exercise science kinesiology or related field.
