The Senior Electrical and Instrumentation Designer is responsible for overseeing the design development and coordination of electrical and instrumentation systems across multiple projects. This role combines technical expertise with leadership ensuring high-quality deliverables compliance with industry standards and alignment with project objectives. The senior designer will mentor junior staff coordinate with cross-functional teams and serve as the primary point of contact for design-related decisions.

Key Responsibilities

• Design
• Lead the preparation of electrical and instrumentation design packages including drawings schematics wiring diagrams and layouts.
• Ensure designs meet project specifications codes and standards (NEC IEC ISA IEEE etc.).
• Review and approve design documents prepared by team members.
• Project Execution
• Coordinate with project managers engineers and other disciplines to ensure seamless integration of E&I systems.
• Manage design schedules deliverables and resource allocation.
• Support procurement by preparing material take-offs specifications and vendor data reviews.
• Technical Expertise
• Develop and maintain instrument indexes cable schedules and loop diagrams.
• Provide guidance on control systems architecture PLC/DCS interfaces and field instrumentation selection.
• Ensure proper grounding lighting and power distribution design for facilities.
• Team Development
• Mentor and train junior designers and drafters fostering technical growth and accountability.
• Promote best practices in CAD tools.
• Drive continuous improvement in design workflows and standards.
• Quality & Compliance

• Participate in design reviews and implement corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards client requirements and regulatory guidelines.
• Support construction and commissioning teams with design clarifications and field changes.

Qualifications

• 10 years of experience in electrical and instrumentation design.
• Proficiency in CAD software and design tools (AutoCAD CADWorx Elecdes Design Suite).
• Strong knowledge of industry codes and standards (NEC IEC ISA IEEE).
• Excellent communication leadership and organizational skills.
• Experience in EPC projects industrial facilities or oil & gas/petrochemical sectors is highly desirable.
