The project management department at the faculty of science (FNWI) of the University of Amsterdam is looking for a skilled and experienced project manager for NWO and Horizon Europe consortium grants. The department manages large collaborative projects where an FNWI researcher acts as the grant coordinator.
The research carried out at the FNWI includes mathematics physics chemistry astronomy biology logic and computer science. The FNWI has been very successful in acquiring large consortium projects and has defined a priority to maintain and expand this position. Our department plays a key role in supporting this policy and realizing this ambition.
As project manager you work alongside the consortium partners in all pre- and post-award activities. You are part of the consortium executive team participate in meetings and communication efforts and organize the required reports and reviews. You will also support our researchers with new grant applications by coordinating and contributing to the proposal writing processes setting budgets and other necessary steps to start a new project. You are conscientious able to build strong relationships with the project partners and you easily adapt to changes.
All our project managers have extensive experience managing collaborative projects and many have advanced research backgrounds. While each project manager is responsible for dedicated projects the team is always available to collaborate advise and help each other out. The department is based at Amsterdam Science Park in the lively heart of its research and education.
You will be the project manager for one or more projects alongside the coordinating researcher and other partners in the consortium. Your responsibilities include:

An initial one year contract for 32 to 38 hours per week and upon a positive evaluation and available funding an extension for at least two more years. The UFO profile projectleider 1 and salary scale 10 apply to this position. The salary depending on relevant experience at former job positions will be 3546 to 5538 (scale 10) gross per month based on full-time employment (38 hours a week). These amounts are exclusive 8 % holiday allowance and 83 % end-of-year bonus. A favorable tax agreement the 30% ruling may apply to non-Dutch applicants. The Collective Labour Agreement of Dutch Universities is applicable.
