Our client is seeking an experienced and detail-driven Quantity Surveyor to support the successful delivery of its commercial civil and industrial construction projects. The role is central to ensuring accurate costing strong financial control and effective contract administration across all project phases.
Key Responsibilities 1. Cost Estimation & Budgeting - Prepare accurate cost estimates for the clients construction projects including materials labour subcontractor packages equipment and preliminaries.
- Develop detailed project budgets and ensure expenditure remains within approved limits.
- Conduct cost analysis to support value engineering and ensure commercial competitiveness.
2. Tendering & Procurement - Prepare tender documentation BOQs and scope packages for subcontractor and supplier procurement.
- Evaluate bids based on compliance pricing and capacity; make recommendations to support contractor selection.
- Support procurement planning and negotiation to secure competitive and reliable supply chains.
3. Contract Administration - Manage and administer construction contracts ensuring adherence to contractual terms timelines and deliverables.
- Handle variations claims and extensions of time ensuring proper documentation and justification.
- Maintain accurate contractual correspondence and commercial records.
4. Measurement Valuation & Cost Control - Conduct on-site measurements and valuations for work completed ensuring fair and timely certification of subcontractor and supplier payments.
- Track and monitor project costs throughout execution identifying potential overruns early and recommending corrective actions.
- Manage interim and final account preparation and settlement.
5. Risk Management - Identify financial technical and commercial risks affecting project delivery.
- Propose mitigation strategies aligned with the clients project methodology and cost structures.
6. Reporting & Stakeholder Engagement - Prepare clear accurate monthly financial and cost performance reports for internal management and clients.
- Collaborate closely with project managers site engineers architects procurement teams and directors to ensure aligned decision-making.
- Contribute to project planning meetings and commercial reviews.
7. Additional Responsibilities - Coordinate procurement schedules and material purchasing aligned with project timelines.
- Assess labour costs and productivity rates to support scheduling and cost forecasting.
- Ensure compliance with local construction regulations health & safety requirements and industry standards.
Key Skills & Competencies - Strong analytical and numerical abilities with meticulous attention to detail.
- Excellent communication negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
- Proficiency in cost management tools MS Excel and construction project management software.
- Strong understanding of construction contracts (FIDIC NEC JBCC or similar).
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple active project sites.
Qualifications & Experience - Bachelors degree in Quantity Surveying Construction Economics or a related field.
- 5 years proven experience in civil engineering commercial building or industrial construction projects.
- Experience working with contractors or project environments similar to RadX Construction is an advantage.
