Job Summary The Lab Technician plays a vital role in supporting the design validation and quality assurance of next-generation consumer hardware products including smartphones smartwatches and related accessories. This hands-on role involves operating specialized lab equipment executing detailed test procedures managing inventory and providing essential support to hardware engineers throughout the product development lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities -
Set up configure and operate pre-production and prototype devices for a wide range of hardware tests including display battery camera RF signal integrity and durability.

Execute engineering test plans (ETPs) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) with accuracy and consistency.

Record document and maintain detailed logs of test results observations anomalies and issues using approved tracking systems.

Operate maintain and troubleshoot lab equipment such as oscilloscopes spectrum analyzers environmental chambers RF anechoic chambers and automated fixtures.

Manage lab inventory by receiving cataloging and tracking test samples components and consumables.

Maintain a clean organized and safety-compliant lab environment adhering to quality and security protocols especially when handling confidential prototypes.

Provide hands-on support to Hardware Engineers and Test Engineers by preparing setups running experiments and performing ad-hoc testing as needed.

Assist with basic prototyping tasks including soldering component replacement and simple rework on prototype PCBs or device assemblies.

Communicate test progress blockers anomalies and technical issues clearly and promptly to relevant engineering teams.
Required Qualifications -
Associate degree in Electronics Electrical Engineering Technology or a related technical field or equivalent hands-on experience.

Minimum 2 years of experience in a hardware development testing or production lab environment preferably within consumer electronics.

Proficiency using standard electrical and mechanical lab tools (e.g. DMM soldering iron oscilloscope).

Strong attention to detail with the ability to follow complex instructions and maintain precise documentation.

Experience in one or more test domains such as RF/antenna testing camera image quality tuning display characterization or battery/power testing.

Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g. Python) for automation or data analysis is a plus but not mandatory.

Working knowledge of the Android operating system for debugging and test execution on mobile devices.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills for collaboration across local and global engineering teams.
