A Business Systems Analyst (BSA) gathers analyzes and documents business needs acting as a bridge between stakeholders (users system owner etc.) and provides requirements that will be translated into functional system designs ensuring solutions align with business goals through activities like interviews process modeling testing and documentation for new IT systems. They translate complex business problems into technical requirements work with IT Engineers Project Managers Stakeholders overseeing training and ensure that new systems enhance productivity and support department objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Gathering Requirements: Produce needs from stakeholders via interviews workshops surveys and analyzing current systems.
Analysis & Documentation: Analyze business processes document requirements (functional non-functional) and create models (like use cases).
Liaison: Communicate between business users developers designers and project managers resolving conflicts.
Validation & Testing: Participate in reviewing validating and testing new systems to ensure they meet requirements.
Traceability: Maintain requirement traceability matrices to track needs through the project lifecycle.

Essential Skills

Analytical & Problem-Solving: Core to assessing needs and finding solutions.
Communication: Explaining technical details to business users and business needs to tech teams.
Technical Knowledge: Understanding of IT systems software and programming principles (Python Java).
Business Acumen: Deep understanding of business operations.
Documentation: Clear and concise writing for requirements.
Methodologies: Familiarity with software development lifecycles (SDLC).

Qualifications

Bachelors degree in computer science IT or related field.
Experience in IT software implementation or business analysis.
