Candidates must meet U.S. person requirements (U.S. citizen lawful permanent resident or other protected individual). The position is expected to onboard at an American Rheinmetall location and transition into primarily being located in Warsaw Poland for an 18 month assignment. Further position details will be provided during screening.
Job Summary:
Responsible for the design development and integration of complex military combat vehicle electronic and power distribution systems.
Essential Functions:
  • Design and Development:
    • Lead or support the electrical design and integration of power distribution systems motor drives and control electronics for BFVs.
    • Develop and integrate advanced electro-optical sights thermal sensors and targeting systems.
    • Design integrate and troubleshoot military-grade communication systems including SINCGARS JTRS or similar.
  • Systems Integration:
    • Interface with mechanical software and systems engineers to ensure seamless integration of electrical subsystems.
    • Develop and review Interface Control Documents (ICDs) and electrical schematics.
    • Support integration of subsystems onto BFV platforms and perform system-level testing.
  • Testing & Validation:
    • Support lab and field testing of electrical and electronic components.
    • Troubleshoot and resolve electrical/electronic hardware issues using standard tools and methodologies.
    • Conduct Environmental and EMI/EMC compliance testing.
  • Documentation & Compliance:
    • Generate and maintain design documentation test procedures and technical reports.
    • Ensure compliance with MIL-STD SAE and applicable DoD requirements.
  • Collaboration:
    • Work closely with cross-functional teams including software mechanical and systems engineering.
    • Participate in technical reviews and briefings with internal stakeholders and customers.

Minimum Qualifications:
Specific knowledge that can be determined objectively suggested vocabulary below
  • In-depth knowledge of:
    • BFV electrical architecture and subsystems.
    • Power electronics including DC-DC converters power supplies and vehicle electrical power distribution.
    • Sensor and sighting systems including thermal imagers laser rangefinders and day/night optics.
    • Military communication systems including encryption radio integration and networking.
  • Experience with MIL-STD-1275 MIL-STD-461 and similar standards.
  • Proficient in tools like OrCAD Altium or similar for schematic capture and PCB layout.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and wiring diagrams.
  • Active or eligible for U.S. DoD Secret Clearance.
Education
  • BSc Engineering (e.g. Electrical Systems Aerospace Automotive)
  • MSc Engineering desired (e.g. Electrical Systems Software Aerospace Automotive Management)
Background Prerequisites:
Must undergo and meet company standards for background check employment verification reference checks physical and controlled substance testing.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with Bradley Fighting Vehicle programs or other armored platforms (e.g. Abrams Stryker).
  • Knowledge of Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE).
  • Familiarity with CAN bus 1553 bus and Ethernet-based vehicle networks.
  • Experience in prototyping environmental testing and ruggedization of electronic systems.
