PAY RATE: $36.89 - $38.83 Per Hour

JOB SUMMARY AND PURPOSE

Under the clinical supervision of the Clinical Director and the operations supervision of the Program Manager the Registered Clinician will assess clients evaluate medical necessity for treatment services and provide therapeutic counseling. The Registered Clinician shall work in collaboration with key program staff to assist in meeting the overall needs of patients. The Clinician shall be registered with the California Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS) as an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT) or Associate Clinical Social Worker (ACSW).

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform client screening intake orientation and assessment functions necessary to complete admission to the residential program and screen for continuing stay criteria based on ASAM Criteria.
    • Assess medical necessity for treatment and complete diagnosis based on DSM IV or DSM 5 evaluation.
    • Ensure adherence to DMC-ODS Waiver Title XXII CARF standards and HIPAA.
    • Repeat assessment using the ASAM Criteria at 90 day intervals following the initial assessment to measure change and guide continuing care or aftercare plans.
  • Deliver treatment using trauma informed approach and evidence based practice protocols.
    • Provide individual group and family therapeutic counseling
    • Provides complete timely and accurate documentation of all treatment in Electronic Health Record system and client files ensuring confidentiality as required by HIPAA.
    • Provide field based services as indicated
    • Respond to client crises and emergencies as needed
    • Act as client advocate to agencies and persons when appropriate.
  • Maintains the dignity and personal rights of all clients as highlighted by deploying clear and skilled crisis communication evasion techniques when participants display hostile or volatile behaviors.
  • Develops positive workplace relationships with staff and peers by participation in professional development events and offering appropriate support while maintaining a high level of professionalism
    • Participates in routine clinical supervision with Clinical Director
    • Attend staff meetings case conferences required training to ensure continuum and quality of care.
    • Assist with training and education projects for staff residents and community
    • Serve as role model through positive appropriate conduct and participation in agency events

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

Qualifications

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be able to pass a fingerprint clearance background check including criminal history personal references employment and education verifications

EDUCATION:

  • Master of Science or Master of Arts Degree in Human Services Social Work or Psychology (or related discipline) from an accredited graduate school.
  • Current state intern number required from California BBS (BBS AMFT or ACSW registration)

EXPERIENCE:

  • Experienced with moderate to severe mental health symptoms

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Alcohol and Drug Counseling Certification by an approved accrediting organization (CCAPP CADTP or CADEE)
  • Alcohol and Drug residential treatment experience
  • Familiarity with Electronic Clinical Management System
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish
  • Strong crisis management conflict resolution and de-escalation skills.
