We are seeking TH-57 Functional Check Flight Pilots for our AHTS contract at NAS Whiting Field Milton FL. The successful candidate will be responsible for technical professional and administrative duties to ensure the successful execution of the Flight Operation/Ground Operations Plan contract compliance and reporting as defined in Naval Air Training and Operating Procedures Standardization (NATOPS) Naval Aviation Maintenance Program Standard Operating Procedures applicable ISO OEM and Navy Instructions.

Principal Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
- Responsible for the performance of TH-57 flight operations functions as outlined in the Government contract and Contractor Flight Operations Procedures. Responsible for maintenance of functional check flights (FCF) and Support Flights. Responsible for maintaining FCP Qualification Aviation Safety Standardization Flight Quality Standards and any collateral program related to TH-57 flight operations.
- Perform pre/post-flight inspection and post-maintenance FCF as first-Pilot in accordance with the Naval Air Training and Operating Procedures Standardization (NATOPS) FCF Checklist. Test emergency abnormal and normal equipment in flight. Analyze correlate and report flight test data and recommend action to correct malfunctions.
- Fly with mechanics locally and cross country to repair downed aircraft. Perform ground turn-up pre-flight inspection functional check flight then fly repaired aircraft back to main operating base.
- Ensure flight planning and execution is consistent with contract requirements and Company policies and procedures.
- May be required to perform post-maintenance ground turns on TH-57 aircraft.
- Provide cross-country familiarization aircrew training to TW-5 pilots for a site other than NASWF including servicing ground handling securing fueling sampling and safety precautions.
- Maintain FCP qualification and currency requirements.
- Assist with FCP weekly scheduling.
- Support the FCP Flight Safety Program in conjunction with the QA Manual SOP and in accordance with the Safety Program description in the Flight Operations Procedures (FOP). When assigned act as Aviation Safety Officer.
- Support and adhere to the FCP Standardization Program in accordance with the FOP.
- Interface with the customer to assure their needs are met.
- Evaluate existing methods systems and potential improvements for compliance with FCF requirements and ensure cost-effectiveness productivity and personnel safety.
- Maintain various forms of data and records in support of qualifications and periodic required reports.
- Submit recommendations for manpower materials facilities and capital equipment.
- Submit recommendations for NATOPS changes and attend the annual NATOPS review.
- Actively support the Vertex Aerospace Safety philosophy and programs. Investigate all accidents and injuries of assigned personnel and take action to prevent similar incidents.
- Advise the FCPS of the status of work in progress and coordinate with other departments as required to accomplish tasks.
- Instruct assigned employees on proper methods and procedures as required.
- Assist in the Training Program as required for employees.
- Participates in government and company audits to verify compliance and develop solutions for identified shortfalls or corrective action requests to prevent a recurrence.
- Ensure compliance with the government contract (PWS) NAMP program company maintenance instructions and company policies and procedures to ensure safe and expeditious support of the Navys Flight Training Program.
- May be required to handle hazardous materials in the performance of assigned duties.
- Must be thoroughly familiar with and ensure enforcement of established General and Industrial Safety Rules and Regulations as applicable to the contract facilities and job assignment.
- Must have extensive working knowledge gained of the Navys aircraft maintenance and flight operations as required in OPNAVINST 4790.2 (series) OPNAVINST 3710.7 (series) and OPNAVINST 3750.6 (series).
- Must have a working knowledge of VIDS/MAF and NAVFLIR as referenced in OPNAVINST 4790.2 (Series).
- Must comply with applicable ISO Federal Aviation Regulations and Navy Instructions.
- Must be able to utilize card files and common office equipment.
- Must be able to effectively interface with Government Representatives. Must be customer-oriented.
- Be thoroughly familiar with all requirements contained in the government contract government instructions manuals and procedures.
- Must be thoroughly familiar with and ensure enforcement of Company policies and procedures.
- Adhere to and enforce all Company and Government regulations to ensure personnel safety and the security and preservation of Government and Company-owned equipment.
- Responsible for adherence to and enforcement of the Tool Control Program.
- Responsible for adherence to and enforcement of the FOD Prevention Program.
- Ensure cleanliness and organization of the work center.
- Ensure that work is properly documented in government and company electronic and/or manual Information Systems
- Assist in ensuring the safety security inventory and preservation of Government-owned and Company-owned equipment.
- Perform all other position-related duties as well as other projects and initiatives as assigned.
- Maintains the highest ethical personal and professional standards

- Must have a minimum of 2000 total helicopter flight hours of which 1000 hours must be first pilot time (as defined by OPNAV 3710.7 series).
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance.
- Must meet any other qualification standards imposed by the government contract not covered by this agreement.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint to generate compile analyze and evaluate facts and data using statistical and research methodologies
- Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Must have the ability to develop professional relationships with management peers maintainers vendors subcontractors and customers.
- Must be able to work weekends other shifts and paid overtime as required.
- Must be able to maintain the confidentiality of sensitive information and Company Proprietary data.
- Must adhere to Company policies/procedures and management instructions.
- Some travel may be required.
Physical Requirements
- Must have and maintain FAA Class II flight physical and pass 4-year aviation physiology training.
- Exert up to 50 lbs. of force occasionally and/or up to 20 lbs. of force frequently and/or up-to 10 lbs. of force constantly to move objects. Must be demonstrated without assistance or use of additional equipment (e.g. step ladder) and in a timely manner.
- CLIMBING - Ascending or descending using feet and legs and/or hands and arms. Body agility is emphasized (onto or off of helicopter cabin roof as part of preflight/postflight.)
- BALANCING - Maintaining body equilibrium to prevent falling on narrow slippery or erratically moving surfaces; or maintaining body equilibrium when performing feats of agility (while on top of helicopter cabin roof as part of preflight/postflight.)
- STOOPING - Bending body downward and forward. This factor is important if it occurs to a considerable degree and requires full use of the lower extremities and back muscles (entering and exiting the helicopter cockpit.)
- CROUCHING - Bending body downward and forward by bending legs and spine (in order to inspect the underside of the helicopter and tail boom as part of the preflight or postflight inspection.)
- HANDLING - Seizing holding grasping turning or otherwise working with hand or hands. Fingers are involved only to the extent that they are an extension of the hand (required for numerous tasks.)
- DIGITAL DEXTERITY - Picking pinching or otherwise working primarily with fingers rather than with the whole hand or arm as in handling (required for numerous tasks.)
- EXPOSURE TO WEATHER - Exposure to hot cold wet humid or windy conditions caused by the weather (while conducting exterior ramp operations such as preflight post-flight and aircraft fueling.)
- NOISE - Exposure to constant or intermittent sounds or a pitch or level sufficient to cause marked distraction or possible hearing loss (while conducting exterior ramp operations such as preflight post-flight and aircraft fueling.)
