Salary: $10 per hour up to 10 hours per week |
Position Summary: The student who fills this position will be assisting a Sociology faculty member Dr. Brianna Turgeon with a research project. We are looking for a student or students with interest in learning about the social science research process. This semester the position will involve transcribing and coding research interviews conducted with Harry Potter fans and former fans to understand their identity and behavior change in the wake of J.K. Rowlings transphobic social media posts. Getting involved with the project also comes with future opportunities to work on the project for a combination of paid positions and academic credit during future semesters. Additionally there will be opportunities to attend and present at conferences in the fall 2026 semester. This is a great experience for students interested in pursuing graduate school or applied work in the social sciences. |
