The Certified/Registered Medical Assistant is responsible for providing patient care to patients by assisting with clinical care and administrative tasks in the infusion center environment.
This is a full-time role Monday-Friday 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM out of our Woodbury and occasional shifts in Hudson.
Twin Cities Orthopedics is an operating division of Infinite Health Collaborative (i-Health) a group of local medical practices owned and led by its physicians on a mission to give patients more control over their healthcare.
Essential Functions:
- Verifies patient information by interviewing patients recording medical history confirming purpose of visit.
- Measure vital signs including weight blood pressure pulse temperature oxygen saturation and document information in patients chart.
- Assist patient throughout the clinic and infusion center as needed.
- Assist nursing with delegated tasks as needed.
- Administration of oral and subcutaneous medications.
- Respond to IV pump alarms and call lights.
- Stock infusion center supplies and medication refrigerators.
- Cleaning patient care areas and equipment within the infusion center.
- Navigate review and update patient EMR.
- Working knowledge of practice management system make change and schedule infusion appointments.
- Coordinate with pharmacies and external vendors to obtain medications for patients who participate in patient assistance programs.
- Make and receive patient phone calls timely.
- Work collaboratively with nurses care coordinators and all staff.
- Give instructions to patients as instructed by physician or nurse.
- Ensure all related reports labs and information is filed is available in patients medical records prior to their appointment.
- Maintain all logs and required checks (i.e. refrigerator temperatures emergency medications expired medications oxygen etc.).
- All other duties as assigned
Education and Experience Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Graduation from a Medical Assistant Program or associate degree program
- Active Medical Assistant certification (CMA) or registration (RMA) or certified clinical medical assistant (CCMA) is required.
- 1 years experience of Medical Assistant experience in a medical setting.
- BLS certification to be annually renewed

- Communicate and interact in a respectful and professional manner
- Prioritize workload while being flexible to meet the expectations of the daily operations
- Apply principles of logical thinking to define problems establish facts and draw valid conclusions
- Understand and execute a variety of instructions
- Effectively operate equipment and communicate on and operate the phone system
- Work independently with minimal supervision
- Ability to adapt to unpredictable situations within the work setting
- Travel to other work locations if required
