Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Team Leader to join our Day Surgery Unit supporting the Nursing Unit Manager (NUM) in delivering excellence across our perioperative services. Apply now interview January and start February.

This is a pivotal leadership role that provides both strategic direction and hands-on operational management across the hospitals day surgery operations. You will oversee our facility which includes:

1 Operating Theatre
2 Procedure Rooms
Central Sterile Services Department (CSSD)
Recovery Unit
Pre-admission services

Qualifications :

Essential

Current registration with AHPRA (Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency)
Proven experience working in a day surgery or perioperative environment
Demonstrated leadership capability in a clinical setting
Strong understanding of clinical governance accreditation standards and patient safety frameworks
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Commitment to delivering exceptional patient-centered care

Desirable

Previous experience in a Team Leader or senior nursing role
Postgraduate qualifications in perioperative or surgical nursing
Experience working with VMOs and multidisciplinary teams
Knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies
