COMPENSATION: Typical starting range$86840.00 - $108550.00 annually
STATUS & HOURS: Full-time regular (approximately 2080 annual hours) position.

DESCRIPTION: This position exists to direct the MNHSs development team and to personally secure major current and planned gifts from individual donors for the Annual Fund special projects and endowment. The Senior Manager Individual Giving will manage the development program and supervise the gift officer team so that the staff successfully closes significant current and planned gifts from individual donors allowing MNHS to build its endowment support annual giving and fund special projects and campaigns. This position will work closely with donors and prospects establishing a rapport that encourages supports and sustains their desire to create a philanthropic relationship with the MNHS while representing the MNHSs mission goals and philosophies with the highest professional standards. This position will also work closely with Membership Volunteer and Foundation leaders who manage volunteerism membership annual giving corporate and foundation relations and development operations.
SUMMARY OF WORK: 1) Manage 75 to 100 individual prospects considered likely candidates for a $25000 gift within four years of being assigned; 2) Manage MNHSs gift officer team; 3) Provide leadership to the MNHSs stewardship programs; 4) Working with program staff provide leadership to any special campaigns arising from MNHS strategic priorities; and 5) Provide overall direction for placing training supervising and motivating assigned staff interns volunteers and fellows. Ensure compliance with MNHS policies and procedures.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelors degree or equivalent in a related field.
Eight years experience of successful major gifts work in a related non-profit environment.
Strong interpersonal verbal and written communication skills.
Supervisory experience.
Computer literacy.
Valid drivers license and willingness to travel.
Ability to work flexible hours.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Demonstrated effectiveness working with donors.
Experience supervising development professionals including portfolio development and goal setting.
Extensive knowledge of federal and state laws and regulations related to fund-raising.
Knowledge of the current trends in fund-raising activity.
Outstanding ability to cultivate relationships and strong personal solicitation skills.
Demonstrated ability to work as a member of a team while independently carrying out institutional objectives.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
