Job Summary :
This associate will greet patients and visitors providing direction and assistance. They will schedule all sleep procedures. They will work closely with referring providers and insurers to acquire accurate insurance eligibility pre-certification and authorization information.

Essential Responsibilities:
- Schedules all sleep procedures and distributes pre-test forms and educational material.
- Maintains the schedule.
- Facilitates re-scheduling cancellations and no-shows.
- Answers and maintains scheduling phone and messages.
- Monitors fax machine. Is fluent in Epic EMR and MyChart.
- Acquires and verifies patient insurance.
- Determines pre-certification requirements.
- Applies for authorizations.
- Is comfortable with the many insurance platforms and algorithms used to determine eligibility.
- Stays informed on insurance authorization changes and updates.
- Maintains the pre-authorization spreadsheet.
- Welcomes patients visitors physicians staff salespersons and the public to the department by; introducing self explaining what they can expect (when why and how).
- Provide response to their concerns.
- Promote a cheerful environment.
- Make guests comfortable.
- Inform staff of arrived patients.
- Assists in the smooth flow of the waiting room to clinical areas.

Education and Experience Required:
School Diploma /equivalent or commercial school graduate.
2. Medical Terminology is preferred.
3. Authorization experience is preferred.
4. One year of medical business office experience and/or sleep medicine is preferred.
5. Familiarity with Epic EMR preferred.
