Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive outpatient evaluation and management for patients with conditions affecting the brain spinal cord nerves bones joints ligaments muscles and tendons
- Develop and implement individualized rehabilitation and treatment plans focused on functional improvement and quality of life
- Perform thorough outpatient assessments monitor progress and adjust care plans as clinically indicated
- Collaborate with physical therapists occupational therapists speech-language pathologists and other professionals to optimize multidisciplinary patient outcomes
- Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses treatment options prognoses and self-management strategies
- Provide weekend and holiday call coverage as assigned
- Participate in teaching activities including bedside/clinic teaching didactics and learner assessment for residents fellows and medical students
- Engage in academic activities including scholarly work quality improvement initiatives and curriculum development
- Provide mentorship and counseling to trainees on academic performance professionalism and career development
- Participate in departmental administration policy and procedure development and assigned committees
- Contribute to program development within outpatient PM&R services
- Manage day-to-day clinical and academic responsibilities in accordance with EVMS and supporting institutional policies
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS
Candidates must have a MD or DO and be board certified or board eligible who have completed an ACGME accredited residency. Applicants must hold a Virginia medical license and DEA certification. The faculty candidate must be committed to a career in academic medicine and must be interested in combining clinical practice with resident education and research. Rank and salary will be commensurate with experience.
