About the Role

As a Youth Justice Service Practitioner youll play a vital role in preventing youth offending safeguarding children and supporting positive outcomes for young people and their families.

Youll manage a varied caseload delivering effective interventions and restorative justice approaches while working closely with victims families and multi-agency partners. This is an opportunity to make a real difference by helping young people turn their lives around and contribute positively to their communities.

Key Responsibilities

• Hold a caseload and deliver interventions that support desistance and strengthen families.
• Work with victims and implement restorative justice and reparation activities.
• Ensure compliance with legislation and Youth Justice Board standards.
• Represent the YJS and Local Authority in court panels and professional meetings.
• Maintain accurate records and contribute to service development.
• Work flexibly including evenings weekends and bank holidays as required.

What Youll Bring

• A degree-level or professional qualification in Social Work Education Health Youth Work Probation Police or a related discipline.
• Experience of safeguarding assessments SMART planning and interventions.
• Strong communication and report-writing skills with the ability to engage young people families and professionals.
• Knowledge of Youth Justice legislation and restorative approaches.
• Resilience cultural sensitivity and a collaborative approach to working with diverse communities.
