AET is seeking a Lead Systems Engineer to work for a Government client based out of Washington D.C. The Lead Systems Engineer/Information Engineer provides technical leadership and oversight for the design integration and optimization of the IRS M365 environment. This role ensures seamless execution of multi-project M365 initiativesincluding SharePoint Teams Exchange Online OneDrive AvePoint Power Platform and Microsoft Copilotwhile supporting the Contractors overall management and governance approach.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead end-to-end engineering efforts across all M365 platforms ensuring alignment with IRS enterprise objectives.
- Plan design and implement system enhancements integrations and configurations following approved architectures.
- Support the Contractors structured methodology for communication performance tracking and technical reporting.
- Oversee concurrent engineering tasks ensuring on-time delivery and compliance with contractual requirements.
- Provide SME-level guidance on system performance capacity planning and scalability across the IRS M365 environment.
- Collaborate with governance leads to ensure engineering activities meet standards for accountability and transparency.
- Support continuous improvement through solution optimization automation and proactive issue identification.
Qualifications:
- Obtain a Public Trust Clearance
- Minimum 5 years experience supporting Microsoft 365 Cloud Suite in large corporate or federal environments.
- Bachelors degree in Information Systems Engineering or related field.
- Extensive experience with Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps Power BI Power Automate).
- development skills (C# MVC Entity Framework JavaScript HTML CSS).
- Advanced PowerShell scripting proficiency.
- Deep knowledge of Exchange Online Intune Azure AD and broader Azure ecosystem.
- Demonstrated experience with SharePoint Administration M365 development and PowerApps model-driven apps.
- Ability to manage permissions retention compliance DLP and other enterprise governance controls
- Experience with Copilot AI features for Power Platform and AI Builder.
Compensation: $110000.00 - $150000.00 per year
