Position Overview
A leading manufacturer is seeking an 3rd shift Industrial Electrician to join its production team in Freeport IL. The Industrial Electrician is responsible for troubleshooting repairing and maintaining electrical systems and equipment in a heavy industrial environment. This position plays a key role in ensuring safe operations minimizing downtime and supporting continuous improvement initiatives. 35-37.32 per hour plus OT
Key Responsibilities
Install troubleshoot and maintain electrical equipment wiring PLCs and control systems.
Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on plant electrical systems machinery and production lines.
Diagnose electrical malfunctions and implement solutions in a timely and safe manner.
Read and interpret electrical schematics blueprints and technical manuals.
Collaborate with maintenance and production teams to improve equipment reliability and efficiency.
Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation.
Ensure compliance with safety regulations company policies and applicable electrical codes.
Assist in training operators and maintenance staff on equipment operation and safety practices.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or vocational training in electrical systems preferred.
Minimum 2 years of experience as an Industrial Electrician Electrical Technician or similar role in a manufacturing environment.
Strong knowledge of industrial electrical systems PLCs VFDs and motor controls.
Ability to read and interpret electrical diagrams schematics and blueprints.
Experience with preventive maintenance programs and troubleshooting under pressure.
Familiarity with OSHA regulations and NFPA 70E safety standards.
Strong problem-solving organizational and communication skills.
Additional Information
Work Environment: Heavy manufacturing facility; exposure to noise heat and moving machinery.
Physical Demands: Must be able to stand climb and work in confined spaces; ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Schedule: 3rd shift depending on business needs; overtime and weekends as required.
