About Shared Services

What will you do

As a highly skilled and experienced Accounting Controller in our San Diego office you will oversee the accounting financial and treasury operations of our engineering services company which includes product sales inventory management and adherence to Defense Contract Audit Agency (DCAA) Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) requirements. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of payroll accounts receivable accounts payable as well as treasury functions including cash flow management ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting and compliance with all regulatory guidelines while driving improvements and ensuring that the finance department operates at the highest level of efficiency and productivity.

Essential Job Functions:

• Lead and oversee all accounting finance and treasury operations (team of 3-5 people including an Accounting Manager) including accounts payable receivables and collections payroll cash management inventory and cost accounting fixed assets and general ledger ensuring accuracy timeliness and internal control integrity.
• Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting by directing the preparation analysis and communication of monthly quarterly and annual financial statements management reports and variance analyses.
• Manage cash flow liquidity and banking relationships including cash forecasting minimum cash thresholds and strategies to optimize cash position and fund operational needs.
• Oversee budgeting forecasting and the Annual Operating Plan (AOP) monitoring performance against plan and clearly communicating significant variances and financial risks to leadership.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory tax and reporting requirements including local state and federal filings company policies and applicable DCAA/FAR or other governing standards.
• Provide strategic financial leadership and decision support partnering with executive leadership and operational managers to evaluate strategic initiatives operational models and investment decisions through financial analysis and recommendations.
• Develop implement and maintain accounting policies procedures and internal controls to safeguard company assets ensure data security and maintain compliance with current legislation and best practices.
• Continuously evaluate and improve financial systems processes and workflows leveraging ERP systems automation and technology to improve efficiency reduce cycle times and enhance reporting accuracy.
• Build develop and lead a high-performing finance team ensuring adequate training accountability and adoption of new systems and processes to support organizational growth and ESOP requirements.

Location

Position is based in San Diego CA with a hybrid schedule.*

What are we looking for

• Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA preferred.
• At least 7 years of accounting experience with a minimum of 3 years in a supervisory role.
• Strong understanding of GAAP DCAA FAR regulations and experience with government contracting accounting practices. ESOP experience a plus.
• Proficiency with accounting software and experience with systems implementation and management.
• Strong analytical problem-solving and decision-making skills to evaluate alternatives and provide recommendations on business issues.
• Well-developed written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to lead and manage a team.
• Strong organizational skills attention to detail and ability to prioritize in a changing environment.
• Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service.
• Must be a US Person (US Citizen or US Permanent Resident).

Compensation and Benefits

Controller pay range: $152113 - $185000*

*This range represents base addition you may be eligible for additional benefits and compensation.
