About the Company A leading national interior and exterior contracting organization is seeking a Structural Engineer to join its growing in-house engineering and design division. The company specializes in advanced construction solutions across drywall prefabrication metal studs acoustical systems wall panels fireproofing firestopping stucco claddings painting windows doors/frames/hardware and more.
With multiple offices across the Pacific Northwest Mountain West Southwest and strategic regions nationwide the company serves major commercial sectors including healthcare higher education mission-critical data centers and large-scale commercial facilities.
This role offers the unique opportunity to work closely with field teams foremen superintendents and project managers who execute the designs you create-bridging the gap between engineering and real-world construction.
Position Overview The Structural Engineer will prepare construction drawings and engineering packages for a diverse portfolio of projects involving cold-formed steel systems. Projects include exterior curtain walls interior partitions and ceilings prefabricated wall panels structural ceilings and data-center containment systems.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on collaboration with operations teams and prefers engineering work closely aligned with construction execution.
Key Responsibilities Engineering & Design -
Design and detail cold-formed steel systems including curtain walls load-bearing walls floor/ceiling framing and connections.

Apply AISI standards AISC guidelines and ACI 318 anchor bolt design.

Perform wind and seismic load calculations aligned with IBC and ASCE requirements.

Produce shop drawings engineering calculations and submittal packages.

Utilize design software such as Revit CFS Designer RISA Suite and related tools.
Project Collaboration -
Work directly with project managers superintendents foremen and drafting teams.

Attend internal and external project meetings with design and construction teams.

Review architectural structural and trade drawings for coordination.

Support field personnel by translating structural details creating engineered sketches and assisting with layout solutions.

Conduct occasional site visits as needed.
Technical & Department Support -
Participate in estimating and bid reviews for upcoming work.

Ensure active quality control by reviewing field progress against engineering designs.

Contribute to internal engineering standards detail libraries and process improvements.

Continue professional development in cold-formed steel engineering and construction methodologies.
Minimum Qualifications -
Bachelors degree in Civil or Structural Engineering

Minimum 2 years of engineering design experience

Prior exposure to or experience with cold-formed steel framing

Strong communication skills (written & verbal)

Ability to work independently manage priorities and solve complex engineering challenges
Preferred Qualifications -
Active PE or SE license (or ability to obtain through comity)

Experience with prefabrication and modular construction

Local to the Wilsonville OR office (relocation assistance available)
