Senior Backend Platform Engineer (AWS, Serverless, TypeScript)

About the Project

We are building a SaaS platform used by large housing companies in Germany to manage residential renovation projects at scale.
The platform coordinates communication between property managers and tenants schedules renovation appointments and enables quality checks across multiple properties and tenants.

We operate in a multi-tenant mission-critical environment with three production deployments and a strong focus on reliability security and operational excellence.

Role Overview

We are looking for a Senior Backend/Platform Engineer who is comfortable owning cloud infrastructure monitoring deployments and security across multiple environments while also supporting development teams with occasional backend work.

This is not a pure DevOps role and not a pure backend role it sits right in the middle.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and maintain AWS infrastructure across three production environments.

• Triaging and responding to errors and alerts via Sentry.

• Manage Auth0 tenant configurations roles and user management.

• Deploy and maintain infrastructure via Pulumi (IaC).

• Manage SSL/TLS certificates domains and DNS configurations (Route53).

• Maintain and update Storyblok CMS content structures.

• Apply security patches and handle security-relevant dependency updates across all repositories.

• Maintain and improve GitHub Actions CI/CD pipelines.

• Ensure API uptime monitor availability and keep Swagger/OpenAPI docs up to date.

• Maintain SMS and WhatsApp messaging integrations.

• Respond to and resolve production incidents within 24 hours on business days.

• Coordinate with external infrastructure partners when needed.

Requirements

Must-Have

• Strong experience with serverless architectures on AWS

• Solid understanding of Infrastructure-as-Code (Pulumi Terraform CDK or similar)

• Comfort working in multi-tenant SaaS environments

• Experience managing production systems with strict uptime expectations

• Ability to work independently and prioritize security-critical updates

• Strong debugging monitoring and triage skills

• Strong communication skills and reliability for on-call/incident response

Nice-to-Have

• Experience with Auth0

• Experience with Storyblok or other headless CMS platforms

• Familiarity with WhatsApp/SMS messaging integrations

• German language skills (not required)
