This is a full-time in person role at our HQ in Tamarac Florida.

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Controller to lead our accounting financial and payroll operations. The Controller will be responsible for managing all aspects of accounting including financial reporting compliance budgeting internal controls and payroll processing. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting principles payroll management excellent leadership skills and the ability to drive process improvements. This role is critical to ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial data and supporting the organizations growth and success.
Key Responsibilities:
Reporting and Analysis:
- Oversee the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements including balance sheets income statements and cash flow statements.
- Analyze financial data and provide insights to support decision-making by senior management.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and other regulatory requirements.
and Forecasting:
- Lead the annual budgeting process and collaborate with department heads to develop realistic financial plans.
- Prepare financial forecasts and monitor performance against budgets providing variance analysis and recommendations.
and Internal Controls:
- Develop and enforce internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure the accuracy of financial records.
- Coordinate and manage external audits ensuring all necessary documentation is provided and audit recommendations are implemented.
- Ensure compliance with local state and federal tax filings and reporting requirements.
Management:
- Oversee the end-to-end payroll process ensuring accurate and timely payment of salaries wages and bonuses.
- Ensure compliance with payroll-related tax regulations and reporting requirements (e.g. W-2s 1099s).
- Manage payroll systems and vendors ensuring seamless integration with accounting and HR systems.
- Address payroll-related inquiries and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Stay updated on changes in payroll laws and regulations to ensure compliance.
Leadership and Development:
- Supervise mentor and develop the accounting and payroll teams fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
- Assign and review the work of accounting and payroll staff ensuring deadlines are met and work is completed accurately.
- Provide training and professional development opportunities for team members.
Improvement:
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of accounting and payroll operations.
- Streamline accounting and payroll processes and systems to improve accuracy and reduce closing timelines.
- Stay updated on industry trends and changes in accounting and payroll regulations to ensure the company remains compliant and competitive.
Financial Planning:
- Collaborate with the management to develop financial strategies and long-term financial planning.
- Provide financial analysis and insights to support business decisions and strategic initiatives.
- Assist in evaluating new business opportunities investments and cost-saving initiatives.
Qualifications:
-Education:
- Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or a related field.
- CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or CMA (Certified Management Accountant) certification is strongly preferred.
-Experience:
- Minimum of 7-10 years of progressive accounting experience with at least 3-5 years in a managerial or supervisory role.
- Experience with financial reporting budgeting forecasting and payroll management.
- Must have experience in QuickBooks Proficiency other software (e.g. SAP Oracle Zoho) is a plus
-Skills:
- Strong understanding of GAAP payroll regulations and financial compliance.
- Excellent analytical problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.

Familiarity with ERP or order-entry systems is a plus. Strong and accurate data entry skills. Soft Skills Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy. Highly organized with strong time-management abilities. Able to work quickly and efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Comfortable with repetitive tasks while maintaining focus and quality.
