Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role

TeHerenga Waka - Victoria University of Wellington is currently recruiting for a Deputy Head of Hall to join the Campus Operations Directorate at the University on a permanent full-time basis.

Key responsibilities:

  • Support theTumuaki Taupuni -Head of Hall to run a 24/7 efficient compliant cost-effective service with a focus on pastoral care engagement and connection.
  • Support the recruitment training development and supervision of Residential Advisers.
  • Ensure compliance with the Universitys policies procedures and reporting obligations those relating to health and safety and risk management.

Key requirements:

  • An understanding of the duty of pastoral care.
  • Experience supporting student academic success and personal growth.
  • A tertiary qualification.
  • Experience in problem solving budgeting and administration event planning and conflict resolution.
  • Experience applying restorative justice principles.
  • Experience as a first responder for critical incidents and risk management experience in a welfare context would also be an advantage.
