Salary:
Level I:$4088.34 - $4885.94 paid bi-weekly
Level II:$4748.19 - $5674.53 paid bi-weekly
EXAMINATIONS:
Appraisal (Weighted 100%): will be conducted for the purpose of evaluating the applicants training education experience interest and personal fitness for the position. appraisal can be based on any of the following: investigation oral examination and/or review of application.
Applicants must attain at least a 70% score on each phase of the exam process.
Minimum Qualifications / Employment Standards
Level I:- Valid Public Health Nurse Certificate issued by the State of California Department of Consumer Affairs Board of Registered Nursing AND valid and unrestricted Registered Nurse License issued by the State of California Department of Consumer Affairs Board of Registered Nursing OR
- A valid and unrestricted Registered Nurse license issued by the State of California Department Consumer Affairs Board of Registered Nursing and possession of a Bachelors Degree in Nursing from an accredited college or university with coursework in public health or community health and application has been submitted to the State of California Department of Consumer Affairs Board of Registered Nursing for a Public Health Nurse Certificate.
- Possess and maintain a current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) card.
- Failure to maintain a valid Registered Nurse License issued by the State of California Department of Consumer Affairs Board of Registered Nursing will result in termination.
- Possession of a valid Motor Vehicle Drivers License.
- Possession of a valid Public Health Nurse Certificate issued by the State of California Department of Consumer Affairs Board of Registered Nursing ANDtwo (2) years of public health and/or community health nursing experience OR three (3) years of nursing experience may be substituted for the two (2) years of public health and/or community health nursing experience.
- Possession of a valid and unrestricted California Registered Nurse license issued by the State of California Department of Consumer Affairs Board of Registered Nursing.
- Possess and maintain a current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) card.
- Failure to maintain a valid Registered Nurse License issued by the State of California Department of Consumer Affairs Board of Registered Nursing will result in termination.

Following an offer of employment you may be required to submit to post offer medical and drug screening tests at County expense.
This examination will establish an eligible list from which immediate appointment(s) will be made. Other permanent and temporary appointments will be made as needed. Successful candidates will remain on the eligible list for a period of twelve-months unless specified otherwise by the Civil Service Commission.
