We are looking for a Registered Building Control Inspector who can make an immediate impact. Utilising your solid foundation of Building Control experience you will be a part of a busy collaborative team delivering a quality service.

About the role
The main purpose of this role is to enforce Building Regulations. You will be responsible for the supervision of buildings within and across the districts.
Secondary roles will include contribution to all the Service activities. The post holder will be required to be flexible and adaptable in responding to the fast-changing needs of the Building Control service.
Duties are varied and will include:
Responsibility to carry out building control duties within a prescribed geographical area.
Negotiating and advising developers applicants and other interested parties.
Keep up to date with changes in legislation.
Carry out plan appraisals to ensure compliance with building regulations.
Liaise with architects agents contractors and builders as required.
About you
You must have experience of working in Building Control and be registered with the BSR at Class 1. Ideally you will be able to carry out plan vets for building regulations compliance and carry out inspections on site.
Having or working towards a construction related qualification and becoming a member of a relevant chartered professional body will be desirable.
You should be a natural communicator and be able to influence individuals at all levels. You will be used to managing your own workload whilst contributing to team objectives and making reasoned and sound decisions.

A driving licence and own vehicle is required and there is an essential car user allowance attached to this role.
